Hello everyone!

It's time for me to start my own thread!
I am looking for a 0.9 to 1.0 ct stone, VS2/Si1 eye clean, I or better. The budget: about $5k with the setting.
For the setting, I'm thinking a very simple platinum solitaire, thin band, tiny prongs (4 or 6?)

Would this budget work?

I appreciate anyone helping in my quest!
Cheers!

Your not likely to find a 1 ct for your budget, but a nice .8 wouldn't be out of the question. Remember your platinum setting would likely run you 800-1000 alone.

Thanks for your reply.

Would a $5k (MAX!) budget be more realistic for the stone only?

Happy to help!

Here are some of the best options available. All of these are within budget and would be GREAT. Just a matter of choosing the color/clarity combo that works best for you.

.94ct, H, SI2 (verified eye-clean)

.90ct, H, SI1

.90ct, J, VS1

.81ct, G, VS2

.80ct, F, VS1

All of those are winners.

Enjoy!

RockyRacoon, thanks so much for all these beautiful options!
Here are my concerns:

The .9 from GOG looks like a winner, however there is that big inclusion right under the table. I will check with them if eye clean. It seems like it's on hold already.

The .9 from BGD would be an instant buy if not for the J color. Would the warmth be noticeable in a simple solitaire (white gold/platinum)?
I was hoping for an I, but that might be stretching the budget?

The .94 from HPD seems like it has a lot of inclusions.. It is certified eye clean, but I feel like it's a little risky...

I dont want to sounds negative, because these are beautiful stones and I really appreciate the help. I just want to find the best stone/buck to knock her socks off :)

Thank yout!

Jimmianne, JulieN, thank you!

I like the WF stone, however I'd like to stay closer to 0.9ct and 6.1+ mm (I know, the difference is small...)

I have the B2C stone on hold. HCA score is 2.6. I requested an ASET, we'll see from there!
Any advice on settings from B2C? I am looking for a thin band (~2mm), with a relatively low setting. I like the "truth"head from BDG:
http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/classic-truth-solitaire-platinum-5369p
or the "Legato sleek line" from WF
http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/legato-sleek-line-solitaire-engagement-ring-728.htm

I also like the following stuller design:
http://www.stuller.com/products/121855/3233131/?groupId=110433
But I'm a bit curious about the little squares on top of the prongs. I havent found any closeup pictures of one of these in the "wild".

Thanks for your help everyone!
