From the time line it sounds like you have a OEC or a transitional cut diamond. In those cases it is kind of expected that the girdle is not faceted at least from my experience.
Since I am curious, why are you asking and can we get photos?
I don't have a photo showing the rough girdle but I can describe my new e-ring: a 2.14 ct round, F, VS1 in a delicate platinum setting, with 6 baguettes and 4 tiny round single cut (?) diamonds. It's way more ring than I'll ever need, but was passed down from a great, great aunt!
