Hello everyone,
I recently found this stone in a gravel pit near Alamosa, Colorado. I'm wondering if it's a diamond. I'm just learning how to run simple tests to determine what I have. Most material I've found is rather junky quartz, chalcedony, jasper, all with a specific gravity of 2.7, when I ran the S.G. test on the rock in question and it came to 3.5! I nearly jumped out of my seat when I read diamonds have an S.G. of 3.5. Does anyone know where I could take my stone to have it further analyzed?
