Hello,

I am relatively new and have never posted, just lurked and drooled over the amazing jewelry you all have! My situation is this, I have a ring that was my husband's gradmother's. She left it to him when she died with the wishes that he give it to his wife or children so i feel comfortable resetting it into something of my taste. I do not know the specs on the stone excpet that it is approx 0.45 ct (I will be having it appraised soon). I would like to reset the diamond into a new setting that I can wear as an engagment ring because I don't have one. The Idea I have is a halo with rose gold on a plain platinum band. Anyone out there have pics of something simmilar?

I dont have any pictures, but I think it will look stunning, please come back and post pictures when you get it done!

Thank you for all of your replies, those are exactly what I had pictured in my mind! I was actually just in my local Tacori dealer yesterday and fell in love with that setting but its pretty pricey and I had no idea that it could be done in a rose gold like that! I think I'm going to save a little more so I can get what I want instead of settling for something less expensive. I will definitely post when I finally get it done.

How do I get in touch Doron Issak? I live in New York, if he is not local will he deal with someone without a face to face visit?
Thanks!

He's in LA, but he's really good about email/phone calls, so I don't believe you'd need to have a face to face with him. His phone number is 310-985-1108, and his email address is [email protected]. I really hope he gets his website going soon. I think his work is impecable, but it's hard to just say that - I'd love for people to be able to see it, you know?

I do know what you mean, I really love the look of the links you posted and would like to see if I could have what I want made. I'm also going to go to a local custom Jeweler and see what they can do but I'm not sure they are capable of doing what I'm looking for.

So still researching this little project of mine and came across a post from 2006 that mentioned this Dimend Scassi in Chicago. I found this setting that is spot on but I would need them to make the halo in rose gold. Anyone here have any experience with Dimend Scassi and any custom work?

Here is link to another rose gold halo (although with pink diamonds) (on page 2 of the engagement rings):

Although it is an Australian company, it looks like it is exactly what you are after! So it gives you a good idea of what your ring would look like with a rose gold halo! The pink diamonds are pretty amazing too!

I must admit, it was one design I considered and almost had made, before I settled on a design with pink pear side stones.

Dimend Scaasi does a very nice job and would probably be glad to give you a quote. You do need to mention that you found him on PriceScope, though, because he ordinarily sells settings for those who buy a diamond from him, but he makes an exception for PS people! I think you are wise to get a good quality setting and a halo will be a perfect choice for that size diamond! My only other thought, though, is that a white metal/white diamond halo would give the overall effect of a larger stone whereas the pink halo will accent the center stone but it will look smaller.
