My husband is buying this lovely stone for me this Christmas and I'm concerned for the rings safety, I am hard on my jewelry. What settings do you think would secure the large stone and make it safe for every day use? A bezel? Would you leave the back open? I'm having issues uploading photos but this link will take you to the ring on jbg. It's a 4.00ct diamond and omg is it gorgeous! Does the price seem fair as well? Thanks all.

I'm also liking the idea of the ring being in a very thin bezel similar to this

I don't think you can ever go wrong with a nice simple bezel, and JBG is very good with them. So many bezels are made that overwhelm the stone or have too high a lip. With a open back, it may get a bit dirtier than with a band, but it may help avoid the band shadowing through the stone.

Can't wait to see what you decide!

Hi Liloette,

If you do decide to go with a bezel setting, you could also consider milgrain detailing which might add to the vintage flair of your rose cut.
