Hi
I don't know much about fine jewelry so I'm hoping to get some help. I've been coveting the Cartier trinity ring for awhile but it's just too pricey for me. I was in a second hand jewelry store and found a similar ring for $420 including taxes and it's 21k gold. So my questions are:
Would you buy this ring or wait until you could afford the Cartier?
Will 21k gold be too soft? I tend to fiddle with my jewelry so I'm worried I'll ruin it and,
Are there any questions you would ask at the store before purchasing?

Thanks for your help!

If it were me, I'd wait to buy the Cartier trinity ring second-hand - OakGem is a reputable vendor who often has the Cartier trinity rings in stock (http://www.oakgem.com/ProductSearch.aspx?txt=cartier trinity).

For me personally, I would not go with a trinity-style ring made in 21 karat gold - it is a ring designed to be fiddled with, and I think the softer gold would be more prone to bend/warp as well as to show scratches.

I bought a rolling ring from here http://www.rollingring.com/ for my mom and she loves it. It was under $400 and a really nice quality.
