Has anyone seen an diamond jewelry by designer Roberto Coin? I am curious as to how well the diamonds are cut.
Thanks for any insight,
Michelle
It''s so funny that you posted this, because I just did a search yesterday for his designs.
There is a website that I found that carries his designs called maurice badler and I remember that Mara liked his circle of life pendant and slammie mentioned that she knew someone who sells his jewelry for a good price.
I was thinking about getting one of his pendants, I like the heart one b/c it''s so small and cute and the wishbone.
I remember reading somewhere that the diamonds he uses are g/h vs/si, but i can''t be certain if that''s accurate.
I remember slammie also mentioning that she has two of his pendants, so she would be a good person to ask.
OHHH....I love his pendants too! I saw a palm tree pendant at Saks in Florida...I'm thinking about getting it. Very nice stuff.
edited because this is the link I have for Roberto Coin stuff at Bizrate.com

Thanks everyone. The necklace I''m considering is the small circle of life one that Mara mentioned previously. But, looking at the bizrate website it says the .62 tcw circle of life is around $1300 and the one I''m looking at is only $435 so I''m not sure if this will make enough of a statement, but I''ll go to BB&B and post what I find out and see how much one around 1/2 inch costs. My birthday is in december so it''s time to pick out another fun item!

i went to saks & picked up a pamphlet... their gimmick is 100 facets - the "cento" diamond. the saleslady said all their diamonds (the .25ct & up only i believe) come w AGS certs. They also give you a "prismatic scope to enable you to admire all the unique qualities".........
my fav part of the brochure was the section labeled "appreciate the difference" cento vs generic - one of the bullets under cento was floral pattern (generic = no floral pattern)..... ya know, it's really imp when you buy a diamond that the pavillion look somewhat like a flower - think of all the times in your life you'll look at the pavillion & be disappointed if you don't see a floral-eque pattern
I can''t answer your questoin about the diamonds but I have been a big fan of RC designs for a few years now. I have several of them including the pave earrings, a pave ring that I got in St. Thomas which I think must have been a discontinued design since I have not seen it anywhere else. (I made RC verify it was in fact, their piece).
I also have a bracelet by RC. I like that little heart pendant but I am on a jewelry moratorium for a while since I just upgraded my e-ring.
The circle looks about as wide as the chain! Surely possible. All y0u need is small diamond half pointers or soDate: 11/22/2004 8:52:36 PM

is it possible that the whole darn thing is only .10 carats? that doesn't seem right to me. what do you guys think?
Thanks for your input. Which store were you able to bargain with? The store I planned to shop at is Bailey Banks and Biddle, but may also try an online seller since the price is cheaper and there''s no sales tax.talked them down in price a bit and purchased it.
