Hi. Still in the process of looking at diamonds rings etc for an engagement ring.
I was looking at this one
https://www.whiteflash.com/engageme...ni-1rz7295-solitaire-engagement-ring-4031.htm
as it seems thin, my gf tried on one around 1.70mm and loved that width, found 2mm too thick.
Just wondering if it is set too high?looks a bit weird? In the recently purchased photos, the prongs don’t seem as upright the bigger the diamond gets, so may not be an issue around 1 carat?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated. =)2

It does look high in my opinion, there seems to be quite a gap between the culet of the diamond and the setting. In the 'recently purchased' photos the settings do look a bit lower.

I would contact them directly and ask them exactly how high it is and whether diamond size makes a difference, it looks like it might be around 7mm in the photo but I'm no expert. I'm having mine re-set at the moment and mine will be 7mm high but it depends on what you like/want, some people prefer lower set rings.

You can ask for it to be set lower. Might help to have examples of rings that you like the height of. "Lower" can be subjective.

Thanks for the replies @aussiemel and @tyty333 will contact whiteflash for some other photos. Maybe high wasnt the right description, just very upright?

Its probably not worth worrying about how they define HIGH if you want MEDIUM or LOW. Focus on what you want to save yourself some time.

I always prefer low or medium-low settings for daily comfort. But, there are as many height preferences as their are PS members.
