Aloha,

I fell in love with the Ritani Endless Love Solitaire ring but do not want to buy the complete ring since I already have a .71 ct diamond on a simple tiffany style solitaire. I''ve contacted Ritani and they are adamant about selling their rings whole. Is there any other way that I could get the ring of my dreams without having to spend more money on another diamond? Are there any jewelers that would sell the setting by itself? And also, does the ring come in white gold? I haven''t seen any online stores that sell the Ritani in WG, only platinum, but I would rather have the WG b/c it is more affordable. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which jewelry designer I should go to to recreate it? If they are located in Hawaii, then that would be even better. I love the ring so much but I''m starting to think that I should just give up on finding just the setting since I don''t want to spend more money than I need to, but would like the real thing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Mahalo,
Cinthia

Hi Beauthao,

Interesting that Ritani did not want to sell you just the setting. I was in Bailey, Banks & Biddle recently looking at a Ritani set, and they seemed perfectly willing to take my diamond and set it in the Ritani setting. I would contact a local jeweler or vendor here that carries Ritani and see if they could do it for you. If not, there's always the custom option.

Aloha yourself! Welcome to Pricescope, I am in Hawaii too!!

Jan & Brad of DBOF carry Ritani. I bought my stone and DVatche setting from them, and they set it. You can contact them by email. I'm quite sure they would be open to setting your own stone. My experience is that they are very easy to work with.

Tell them Kamuelamom sent you!

No, I don't get any kickbacks for this. Just helping is all.

When you get a chance, do a search and pop into the Hawaii thread in the Diamond Hangout section of the forum.

Hi,
I went to Bailey, Banks and Biddle to see the Ritani rings and when I told them, I just wanted the setting, they didn't have a problem with that. They said, just let them know the size of the diamond so they could order the correct size mounting. I would try them if you have one near you.

Hope this helps.

I was at Bailey's and they told me that I could not set my diamond in the Endless love setting and that I had to purchase one of Ritani's diamonds in order to get that style.
They said that if I wanted any other style, other than the Endless Love settings, they could just order it for my diamond and set it for me in the store, but because the endless love setting is a complete bezel with diamonds that goes around a larger diamond, it was a lot more complicated and Ritani would not set another person's diamond in it.
If I were you, I would probably go the custom route.

I second the custom option. Other than contacting the manufacturer directly to see if they can accomodate you, it is probably the easiest way to get what you need and is about the same cost and turnaround time.

This brings up an interesting subject, as about half the custom rings I produce for individuals are almost direct copies of another firms ring, and most of those are from supposedly "custom" firms!
The story I hear again and again is that the dealers refuse to supply what the customer wants in metal choice, setting size, or minor detail that could be changed in the wax in seconds, but they claim they can't do, or insisting the stone must come from them as well.
Do any other designers on here have this experience?

I am personally developing a theory that the short link in this chain is most likely at the sales end through sales people that don't understand the process, or inflexibility at the distributors end with a limited number of options they stock and offer to the stores.
Every time I have asked the right questions directly to the manufacturer the answer almost always come back "no problem".

Hope I'm not too late. I found a store in Atlanta that will put your stone in a Ritani setting. I have an engagement ring that I want reset and they had the setting that I wanted.
It is Solomon Brothers in Atlanta, Georgia. Ritani won't let them do the setting. You have to mail your ring in it's current setting insured to Solomon Bros and they send it insured to Ritani. Ritani casts each setting individually to fit the stone.
Good Luck.

Really? which Bailey store did you visit that was willing to set your stone? Is it terribly expensive to set it in the Endless Love setting. I also would like to have mine set in that setting w/the circlet diamonds around my round stone.

so did you have them order it?

Honestly, you will get SO many stories as Ritani is somewhat new and most dealers are unaware of the "rules" unless you have the dealer ask Ritani yourself since Ritani won't speak to the consumer. I am going through this with a similar Ritani and my friend went through it with the endless love. As I understand it from spending many hours trying to get answers from Ritani and the dealers about both settings, Ritani will not reset someones diamond in the Endless Love setting due to the custom work and exact parameters needed to make the bezel as well as the 2 "prongs" on the side. Your best bet would be to have your dealer call Ritani directly and speak to the manager there, Jennifer. The only 1 caviat to this is that they WILL reset your diamond into the Endless Love setting if it is over 2 carats... I have no clue why, is just what a women at Fortunoff told us because she had purchased, for herself, the Endless Love setting with her own 2 ct diamond. Good luck!

Are you serious??? So let me get this straight; you normally can't get the Endless love setting w/your own diamond unless your ring is at least 2ctw? maybe i'm in luck...BUT i already have the channel setting but i want the circlet of of pave diamonds around the top...i guess that is the bezel setting.

I know, it is really stuped but Ritani is just SO picky and I have no clue why the whole 2ct rule applies for the Endless Love. Your best bet might be to go to a custom jeweler for your setting ugms76. Ritani is just so frustrating but unfortunately or/and fortunately their work is just spectacular. That is the ONLY reason why I am jumping through hoops to get mine as did my friend.

Hey Novice,
Guess what? i just went to the mall at lunch. i first went to Bailey jewelers and they said they could order the setting for me and reset my stone BUT when i started looking at how the EL is underneath how the diamond just 'hangs there' I didn't like it so much.
THEN I went to Mayers and they had the same concept but not by Ritani with the circular pave diamonds around the center stone that looked beautiful! It was strange, the circulet around the center stone wasn't exactly set right up on the center stone...there was like a small space between the circular pave and the center diamond. Have you ever seen anything like that? What is that called?

There are a lot of variations to the Endless love setting. Infact Ritani even designed a very similar setting just different bottom (bottom where the diamond falls) for Tiffanys when he was with them. In my search I found so many bezel set diamond rings with micro-pave around the diamond. Unfortunately, I could only remember one designer with whom I saw. I attached 2 rings to this page, the ring on the right is a similar setting by Michael B and the one to the left is a ring by Mayers. Is that the ring you are referring to? What it comes down to is preference. Which setting you like is all that matters. Let me know what you find and how your persuit goes.

align="center">Hey Cynthia-my boyfriend recently bought the ritani endless love solitaire setting by itself from Finks Jewelers. My stepmother works for Finks and made all of the arrangements through them; however, I do not think they were any special arrangements I think Finks can get the setting by itself. You can check it out at www.Finks.com or 1-800-566-7464 Hope that helps
