Ring Sizing

I purchased a ring and diamond from a PS Vendor. I had the ring initially set in the classic 6 prong setting. I decided to go with a more expensive setting. I switched back to the classic 6 prong setting after a couple prong issues with the second setting and received my ring back about a week and a half ago. My size is a 5. The first two rings were perfect fit for my finger. This last time things have been different. When I got the ring, it did go on my finger but I noticed it was a slightly tighter fit. I took it off, and to me, it looked slightly narrower coming down the shank if that makes sense. I wear a size 5 because of my knuckle. I thought because it did go over my knuckle the first couple of times, that it would be okay because it was tighter down where the ring is on my finger. The problem is I haven't worn my ring much the last week because it is taking at least 20 minutes to get it over the knuckle. Taking it off is extremely hard, but easier than getting the ring on. My hands swell slightly in the morning and then if I am walking or it is warmer temperature, but it has never been to this point where it's almost impossible to get the ring on and harder to get off at any given time of day. I did not wear my ring for three days or so thinking that maybe my knuckles needed a rest and after that the ring would be easier to get on/off. After three days it is just as hard. I plan on going into a couple jewelers tomorrow to have them measure the ring size of the ring. If it's not that does anyone have any idea what might be going on with my finger that is making getting this ring on/off so miserable? Thanks for reading.

In the summer my fingers swell. That could be what you are experiencing as well. Perhaps you could size up and add sizing beads for the winter shrinkage?

Possibly. Size 5 has always worked perfectly for me with any of the swelling I experience that is temporary. Even during the summer, awhile after I quit walking the swelling I get goes away, or if I'm in an air conditioned room, the swelling goes down and the ring becomes loose but not enough to ever go over the knuckle. The two other rings I had in the last couple months from this vendor were perfect and what I'm experiencing now was not an issue. Last year, I did have a ring with a similar problem which I hadn't worn for a number of years. When the jeweler measured the size of that ring, they said it was 4.75. I am wondering if that is the issue with the ring I have now. I would think things would be consistent with this particular vendor. I'm taking it in tomorrow to get the ring size checked.
