Hi Ladies,

I am new!! and am looking at engagement rings and need some help! It appears there are many hundreds of extra decisions I have to consider that I wasn’t expecting, and other points such as your ring size can change the look of your diamond!

Would anyone mind posting pictures of your engagement rings if they are less than 1ct, and if your ring size is between 4 and 5 (I am 4.5!)

If you could let me know your ring size and ct weight in your post that would be fab! Also if you would like to include your price tag, that would be lovely, although I appreciate some people might not want to give out that information!!

Thank you in advance, look forward to seeing lots of lovely pics of your beautiful engagement rings!

Are you looking for any particular shape? I also have size 4.5 fingers and have both a round and an emerald cut that are under 1 ct.

I was looking at a cushion cut one, but am not 100% sure! So many decisions! Thank you!

I had a cushion cut under 1 ct but I''m not sure if I took any handshots before I upgraded it.

Well if you find the pictures i would be very excited to see it!!

I’m sorry to say I never took any hand shots, only pictures of the ring itself. However, I do have some other pictures that might be helpful. This one is my 0.75 ct emerald cut which measures approximately 6x4 mm thereabouts.

This one is an asscher cut, which I know isn’t a diamond but it measures 6.5 mm which should help with the size perspective. Also since it is squarish, the outline is closer to that of a cushion that my other rings.

This last one is a 0.88 ct OEC measuring 6 mm round. That’s all I have that are under 1 ct.

They are all beautiful thank you very much!

Hi Katrina,

My stone is a .90 ct RB. My size is 4.75!

Another one...(please disregard the pendant!) The stone's size according to the GIA report is: 6.19 - 6.24

Here is my current set. It is a radiant cut stone that measures 6.34x5.15 and weighs .93 carats.

My finger size is just under 4.25, but when I wear multiple rings including my kind of wide for my finger anniversary band I have them go up to 4.5 or 4.75.

Here is the .93 radiant alone w/o my anniversary band

Here is a previous set I wore. The stone itself is estimated to be about 40 points (it''s an older cut so w/o removing I can''t say for sure). The head is squarish so I''ll give those measurements so you can have an idea of over all coverage. It''s about 5x5.5 and the stone itself is about 4.5mm in diameter. It is deep so most modern cuts of the same weight would face up probably a smidge larger from what I understand.

I have a bezeled .71 ct. asscher on a 4.75 finger.

This one is lovely, i do really like the cushion shape so think i will most likely go for one of those, I was looking at the tiffany Novo which is beautiful, my price range will probably get me between .60 to .75 ish in that ring as i am buying the Tiffany name.
Your emerald cut is beautiful also, I do prefer the square cuts to the round, i wanted something super different rather than just the one round stone, which is why I was looking at the Novo, the band of point diamonds is beautiful.

I like NatyLad''s ring also, I was looking at a similar one in tiffanys, but in order for the ring to look right, the center stone needed to be about .9-1ct, and in Tiffany, thats not in my pricerange.

This is very usefull for me to comapre to, thanks for this. it will most likely be the top end of my price range if I continue to look at the tiffany website....

I think I will probable go for a cushion cut, the more I look at the Novo, the more I like it.

I love the shape of this rock with the four prongs around it, it is very pretty and catches the light beautifully.

Here is a .95 novo on size 4.25 finger.

Since you asked about pricing you may find this helpful...both of the rings I posted were purchased on ebay to avoid the Tiffany markup. The H VVS2 novo was 6,000 (11,400 retail) the I VS1 solitaire was 1,200 (3,400 retail). I had them polished and sized by tiffany for free, they even authenticated with a new appraisal for free. I upgraded again and was able to sell each for a little bit more than I paid. I figure a diamond is 30 billion years old anyway, there is no such thing as a new one.

Thanks kelpie,

Did Tiff''s mind that you had bought the rings off ebay? And how did you prove the retail price, or did Tiff''s give you a new retail price when they appraised them for you?

Also did you trade the two rings in for a larger one, or did you sell them to someone outside Tiffanys?

I heard someone say that Tiff''s will credit you 90% of the retial price of your ring if you trade it for an upgrade, but only if the new ring you buy is double the old one''s retail price?

Its all very confusing, but if this is how it works it could be a possibility for me?

Thanks for your help

Tiffany never knew or asked about their origin. They provide top notch service. Each ring has the serial number inscribed inside so the computer pulls up the original bill of sale. They cannot get you a new diamond certificate if it is missing but the computer will have the weight, color, clarity and maybe dimensions. In the case of the novo the value actually went down with the diamond market (bought for 12.4k originally, appraised at 11.4k when I had it done). I re-sold the rings.
