ring resize in Houston if not buy ring from them?

Custom-made platinum rings (e-ring, w-band) are from UD in Atl GA. Tad big.

Looking for a gooood and trustworthy jeweler:
1 - in Houston, TX
2 - resize rings that were not purchased from them (this excludes good ole whiteflash and jonathan''s fine jewelry!)
3 - resize on the spot (I don''t trust leaving my rings behind; hence I don''t want to mail them back to UD)

any suggestions? I called Jared''s and they said they''ll do it ($60/ring) - can I trust them to do a good job? is that a good price?

$60 for plat is cheap...I paid over $100 to resize my plat ring which is only 1.5mm.
I'm not sure if any of them will resize on the spot. Sorry, I dont have any
recommendations (dont live in Texas). Hopefully you'll get some Texans to respond.

Really?!

That seems like a lot to me, especially to go smaller and not bigger.

I live in Indiana and resizing is about $50 for gold, so I''d say $60 is a good price for PLAT.

4 - it''d be great if it was a smaller jewelry shop where I can establish a good rapport w/ the jeweler (or at least trust very well) and visit this place every 6 months for a ring checkup.

hmm. I live in Houston and I know Whiteflash and I''ve bought things from Jonathon''s (many yrs. ago)

I don''t know this for a fact, but I''d guess that many of the jewelers in the jewelry building might send out the repairs to the same workshop. It might be hard to find one who will do the work in front of you. Can''t say I blame you for wanting that though.

have you called Whiteflash?

what about some of the larger independent jewelers in town? Zadocks and I. W. Marks ???

Sounds like you want something like Galaxie. They''re in the Rice Village area. Small family owned place and I''ve never heard anything bad, only great reviews. My fiance and I are going to look into having them make our wedding bands (they also made his parent''s bands). Check them out.
