Hi. I am looking for some advice on a diamond setting. I’m currently looking for a right hand ring (middle finger) and am thinking of an asscher (approx 1ct) in a really ultra plain, low band setting, approx 5mm width, white gold or platinum. Something like the look of a tension setting, maybe, but it doesn’t need to be an actual tension setting. Maybe something along these lines http://www.elementjewellery.com/wedding-and-engagement/paul-spurgeon/6172_true-d-flawless.aspx or http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/engage...-by-danhov-designer-engagement-ring-item-7233, but more elegant and feminine. (The main reason for wanting a low, plain setting is that I don’t want it to compete with my e-ring, which is a 1.25 prong set rbc.) I don’t want to spend too much – maximum $1300. Does anyone have any ideas at all? Alternatives to my initial thoughts are very welcome. Thank you for your help!

I think either idea is great, even more so that you will be using an asscher cut diamond would look fantastic!
Do you already have the stone?
I ask, because if it's approv 1 ct, I don't know if you want the band to be as think as the stone, maybe giving it a more harsher look (and you mentinoed you wanted a more feminine look).
Would you consider a smaller ct weight?

That is a really good idea, actually, to make the stone smaller than the band. You are right that it would look more feminine that way. I haven't bought the stone yet, so perfectly do-able. Thanks for your reply! Much appreciated. :))

So glad that I could be of help!

Sorry for my horrid typing skills in my previous post. I re-read it and laughed out loud!

Anyway, whatever you decide to do, please make sure to post it on here! I'm curiuse to see how it turns out! :D

Will do! I think it will be a while in the planning, though! :)) Thanks again for your help.
