Those of you who met Rigga in person at the bay area get together wanted to see the "Big Dog" on Pricescope, so here it is! She''ll come on to post the details just as soon as I tell her I posted these
Rigga, you''ll have to tell us everything about this stunner...isn''t there a story around it? It seems I remember the stone is ungraded..or at least was until the "experts" at the north end of the lunch table in SF did it for you!
Hey Rigga (mortis) - it''s great to see the "big dog" again! What a glamorous, gorgeous ring. I got a loooong look at it at the GTG - it''s a true beauty. Keep the photos coming.
And just for kicks, I''ll make Rigga explain how these lovely earrings managed to *jump* out of the display case at Dianne''s Old and New yesterday..... right into her handbag....
First of all - a big thanks to WM for the amazing pictures.
Secondly, when I get home, I promise to post the info I have on the ring - the "official details" and such.
As for the story of the ring...
My father started his own business in 1950...and got the most amazing office manager the same year I was born, many years later. "Legend" has it that she needed money...and somehow decided to sell her mother''s "dinner ring" (Dinner ring? Eeep!) to my father...who "put it away" for me. (My mother never got such a ring...not that she would have worn it in the first place....but still...it just goes to show what a "Daddy''s girl" I was and still am.)
So, about 15 years ago, I managed to pry my ring from my mother''s fists and safety deposit box and have just recently started to wear it more.
It''s desperately needed an "airing out." I love it to death, and was so delighted to get to share it with "like minded folks" at the GTG.
I''m definitely going to take the advice to wear it more often.
As for the earrings...It''s late...I''ll write more later.
And can I just say that WM is like a drug dealer when it comes to taking me to all of these jewlery stores I just need to check out?
The earrings are from Dianne''s on Union St. When we went back today to pick up the vintage watch I bought the same day, Dianne had a lovely bottle of bubbles for me as well.
I''m a fan for life. I had such a great time talking to her, it was like I''ve known her for forever.
Ada - I will not post the silly remark I was thinking of when I read your post - only because I haven''t been on this board long enough to know if I''d get in trouble for "saying it out loud."
