***** Pala’s Richard Hughes to join AGTA Lab *****

The New Year often brings surprises, and a big one occurred at Pala International when our webmaster and corundum guru, Richard Hughes, announced that he would be leaving Pala to take a position with the AGTA Gem Testing Center (AGTA-GTC). This was quite a shock.

Even more shocking was that when Bill Larson got the news, he immediately ran out the door mumbling something about how Pala would now be... how should we paraphrase him... Richardless.

It was a shock, but all of us here at Pala International are pleased in the knowledge that Richard will now be putting his talents to great use for the entire American gem trade. We wish him the best of luck with his new position.

I knew you were a gemologist but *not* that you worked for Pala! That as *well* as Richard''s leaving is a surprise to *me*!!! I am glad I bought my stone from Pala when I did so that I got a letter signed by Richard with my stone!
