Rhodium Plated Yellow Gold Ring

My original engagement ring is .25 ct G VS2 Princess cut in Yellow Gold.

My lovely husband bought me a beautiful Platinum I VS2 .72ct recently from Whiteflash so I decided to have my original ring rhodium plated as I don't like to mix colours.

It turned out very well - however I have managed to scratch it already so I shall have to keep it for special occasions only. (I didn't scratch it by putting my new ring next to it for a photo - I did it before I started taking pics!)

This is it before....(with my original wedding band which I am not having plated)

Your ring turned out great! Can you see the gold through the scratch? I''ve considered rhodium plating my 14k wedding band, but I''m afraid the plating will wear off fast.

I have tried to take a photo of it. It wasn't very easy but I think I managed!

Its not yellow as such - more just a scratch - when you look very closely (through a loupe) you can see slight yellow but from a distance you can't really see it. I don't want to have to keep having it replated so I won't wear it every day.

Your ring looks terrific in white! I have an opal ring set in 18 kt. yellow gold that I had rhodium plated. I probably wear it once or twice a week and it has been over a year now and it still looks perfect.
