Rhino, your GOG OMCs have got me so confused about what I want in a diamond! They are too gorgeous!

I hope you had a good 4th of July!

I just wanted to share with you what your OMC has done to my head. Ever since I was 16 (am *ahem* 31 presently), I have been mad-crazy in love with RBs and have looked forward to the day when I would get to select MY RB and set it in my ideal setting. But NOW, you've turned my world upside-down! These OMCs are unbelievably gorgeous, and I find myself seriously thinking about giving up on the RB idea. After 15 years! That's half my life!

But the thing is, they are so totally different from RBs. I have watched a bunch of your videos (love them! especially the soundtracks

) and think they are hugely helpful, but in this particular case, it's figuring out a personal preference sort of thing. No one else has asked you to do a video comparing an ideal cut RB with one of your OMCs, have they? I looked but didn't see one, and I don't feel quite right asking you to do one for me, since we are probably a couple of years away from getting my forever ring.

Anyway, the main point of this post is to emphasize to you how mind-bogglingly gorgeous your OMCs are, since they have shaken the rock-hard foundation of my love and desire for a round. I hope you're happy, mister!

I just had to sign up after reading your post gwendolyn! I have been lurking around here for about a year when I came across this forum by accident. I''ve always been a RB girl and was convinced that this is what I would get when I get engaged (around next year, hopefully!) I have been obsessed with having it set in a 6 prong solitaire by Leon or Mark... But then I saw the same video on the GOG website last night and fell in love with the OMC

Basically, I just wanted to say that I feel your pain lol. If I ever did get an OMC I''d have it set in a simple double claw prong solitaire by Leon

I looked at the thread of the poster who got a GOG chunky cushion downgrade a few days ago. I love her ring. Really, its one of the most beautiful diamonds I''ve ever seen. Now I am on the GOG website drooling over the ones he has in stock. I really prefer the L colored ones to the G or the E that are up there. They are so yummy. I just got a new diamond ring, but I can''t help but want another!!! Maybe the wish fairy will gift me 6 grand...

arj, SERIOUSLY, your stone is TOTALLY messing with my head--those rainbows, those flashes of light, the fact that it's white when it feels like it and all over the place being magically colourful when it doesn't--what am I supposed to DO?!!

It has this sort of liquid quality to it....so totally enchanting. I agree with whoever said you should change the title of your thread so it doesn't say "downgrade" anymore because there is no WAY that stone is a downgrade from anything!

So, yes, Jon. I will have many sleepless nights ahead of me now, because of this OMC of yours. And there's talk of you perfecting the asscher as well? That used to be my runner-up favourite to the RB, so heaven only knows what THAT will do to me...

These cushions are KILLING ME!!

I have a GOG h&a stone and as my anni is in august and b-day in sept. I''ve been considering upgrading. But it all depends on what they have in stock when the time comes around..

And I thought I was the only one that feeling this way. AJ''s and Redrose cushion also drive me crazy. The problem is my FI is not on board for me to change my RB e-ring with this cushions. But he has allowed me 5-stone w-band of OMC/OEC.

I with you Gwen I was perfectly happy with my 1.32 H & A from GOG and now I am longing for a chunky OMC which will be twice as big but the same money

. Now I just have to see how to broach the subject with my DH who never understood why i NEEDED an upgrade after 20 years . Now after 21 1/2 years I don''t know what he well say but my kids say do Mum he won''t even notice

Somehow I don’t think bezeling will have too much an effect – much like a well cut RB in a bezel. Since it is a super duper cut, all the light coming from the top will be reflected back as well. I think a JM bezel (totally open sides) would be divine!
