Hi all,

I am thinking about buying an GIA/GCAL certified diamond from bluenile.co.uk and was wondering if any of you bought from this seller and if their customer service is trustworthy. Here is the diamond I am now thinking about:

Yes some have bought from BN, they do not supply the info that many informed buyers want such as Idealscope or ASET images but they are a reliable vendor. The diamond you have chosen looks very promising by the numbers.

Would you know another trusted website shipping to UK with Idealscope or ASET images? Also, if I do buy the ring from BN, I guess I will have to have it valued (and potentially return it within the 30 days period) - do you know how much an independent valuation usually cost?

Pretty much all US-based operations will ship to the UK, including many vendors with an excellent reputation on PS.

Remember to add Import Duty (2.5% on jewellery; nil on loose stones) and VAT to the list price for comparisons.

An appraisal on a "normal" stone (say below 5 ct) should be around £100 - depending to some extent on who does it, and for what purpose.
