resizing an eternity band

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck resizing an eternity band by having the inner circumference of the band increased with 'shaving' off(grinding away) excess metal? The band is very thick Platinum and has channel set baguettes, so I am worried about the stones becoming loose.

You shouldn't loosen stones by grinding away excess metal: I'm an amateur home jeweler, and I upsized one of my own platinum eternity bands in this fashion. If you wanted to splice, that'd be tricky, but this method should be relatively easy for a pro.
