I have found for sale a ring set that I really, truly love-- just my style, well made, etc.

The band is 3/4 set channel set with asschers and the whole shebang is engraved. However, it's a 6.5 and I'm a 5.5 at the largest, and really more like a 5.

Will sizing something like this down that far damage the actual diamond portion of the setting? I am aware that there is no possibility of resizing without damaging the engraving, but I don't want to disrupt the integrity of the channel set.

Do you have a picture (or link) to the setting. Hard to say without seeing it.

I had a very similar engagement ring, minus the milgrain and filigree etching, and had it resized a few times following a couple pregnancies. Just tell whoever resizes it to watch out for the channel set stones... relook them yourself after the sizing is done to make sure everything still looks good :). very nice setting choice!

I personally wouldn't take that risk. If the size was just a half size too big, I would get sizing beads. But I just wouldn't resize a channel set band.
