resize ring?

is it possible to resize a size 4 1/2 to a size 8 1/2? the ring is a simple solitaire.

NO.

The ring will have to be literally taken apart and partially redone. A routine opperation, but not as fast as a slight resizing....

Technically, it COULD be done, but the final product won't be very pretty.

What is done is the ring is cut on the bottom of the band and extra metal is sodered on to add to it. This will slightly warp the ring, as the curve will need to be fixed, and the integrity of the original ring will be called into question.

As Ana said, not advisable, and alomst easier just to have a new ring made!!!
