I have found a used ring for sale and I am interested in purchasing just the setting and having my 1.04 diamond mounted into it. The jeweler does mention on his website that they would be willing to sell the diamond separately, so I am hoping that means they would sell the setting separately.
The current ring shown in the attached picture has a center diamond sized at 1.12 ct and it is 6.79 x 6.85, my diamond is 1.04 ct and is 6.52 x 6.56, so less than .30 difference in mm size.
Can anyone tell by looking at this ring if it is possible to reset my diamond into it?
