Hi there,

I am looking at purchasing a diamond for a ring and have been shown a link to a picture of the specific diamond. The link is http://hdfiles.in/Diamond.aspx?stoneid=8824760168 and I am after your opinion on the stone. I am by no means a diamond expert and am wondering about the inclusions in the top right. I think I can see a couple dark ones and perhaps a rather large "white" line around the 2 o'clock. The price is approx $6000 USD.

My questions are around is this a fair price and will the inclusions be ok/will the stone look good in a solitaire setting?

Cheers for the help!

I believe the 2 o’clock inclusion can be somewhat easily hidden by prongs. The other inclusions seem clear & small; located in such a way to not be so noticeable with the naked eye. Pretty much eye clean. It has strong fluorescence. It’s an H, which may face up more white due to the fluorescence, but how do you feel about fluorescence? Likely, it will benefit the stone, but you should inquire with the vendor whether or not there is negative impact from strong fluorescence.
You should also request ASET and Ideal Scope images to see light performance within the stone.
There is no Crown angle nor Pavilion angle included, either. That info is important, when dealing with mbr’s. Once you have that info, you will want to enter table %, depth %, pavilion angle & crown angle stats in the HCA Tool to see where the stone falls, once it’s calculated. The HCA is helpful in determining which diamonds to eliminate & which to pursue further...

Note: AGS000 is superior as far as cut. GIA xxx is really great, but AGS Ideal/super-Ideal just can’t be beat.
Just thought that may be helpful...

You'll want to make sure that the stone is not hazy due to the strong fluorescence. Often it is just fine, but best to check.

It's a pretty diamond. I'd ask for idealscope or ASET images, it's hard to tell how well a diamond is cut without at least one of those. It looks eye-clean and non-hazy to me and seems to have nice arrows.
