Repurposing my Grandmother's setting

My grandmother had a 3 stone OEC ring that she wore everyday. As a child, I adored it and would ask to try it on at any opportunity. It consisted of her mother’s 1.11 H VVS/IF (except for a girdle chip) oec, her own 0.3 engagement OEC, and an aunt’s 0.3 OEc. After she passed in 2010, I got the 1.11, an aunt got one 0.3, and a cousin got the other 0.3. That left the setting. I have another aunt who is an incredibly generous person and is always helping with my kids or whatever she can, whenever she can. She is a self-described loser of jewelry, however, so she didn’t want anything extremely valuable. So I just took the setting and had a 7 mm moissanite and 2 amethysts put into it for her. Amethyst is her birthstone and conveniently inexpensive. Here it is - I can’t wait to give it to her!!! It’s an 8.5 and my ring finger is a 6, but you get the idea
