Replacing Setting help!

Hi there. I am looking at replacing/recreating the setting of my engagement ring. We have had multiple issues with the Diamonds falling out of the band and the ring not staying round. We were also just told that there are four cracks in the band. (I promise, I try to be very gentle on my ring and only wear it when I go out! No shower, dishes, sleeping, etc.)

I am totally out of the loop with all the terms, as it’s been several years since we looked at jewelry.

Could someone help me and tell me how these diamonds are set? I like the lower profile of our setting, versus some of the other settings we have seen. U-shaped or something? Also, we’re looking at having it built to be a little thicker (maybe 2.5 instead of 1.8 to hopefully help with durability.

Any other suggestions/advice is welcome!F5EE17DC-CD8F-41F4-8197-D3628AB44BE9.jpegF160E520-C917-48B4-B0E9-CC58CDDB6F80.jpeg5CCB5ADC-D309-4BFA-8162-AD036E04D3D3.jpeg

Your pictures are not very well focused (I know its difficult to focus on such tiny things). I'm guessing u-cut but get more opinions. I'm no expert on
pave.

It is. I have some pictures from the original jeweler. Let me see if I can upload those .2621A178-6B6B-4B03-B12A-C32FB7BB5989.jpeg367F801F-D2D4-4751-AD15-CD02382B9754.jpeg

I would personally have it entirely re-set by another jeweler than the person who made it for you originally. Especially if stones are falling out and/or the ring is going out of round. It's lovely, but doesn't sound as though it's durable.

I am probably leaning towards finding another jeweler to recreate it. I would like to try to stay as close to the original design as possible.

I’m also trying to decide if I should try to have a local jeweler make it, or if I should find a reputable online jeweler. Any recs?

I would talk to David Klass about having it remade. Problem is it will need to be thicker and possibly wider so you dont have to deal
with the ring going out of round. You say you like the "low-set" of the stones. Are you still going to love it when they are set higher to
give you the durability you need?

Maybe you should find a picture of a setting that is similar but has a better height/depth that you think would work for you. Post pictures here
so we can comment if we think they are durable or not.
