I have spent the last several months replacing my wife''s ring due to some unfortunate losses. In the process, we found out that my stone was chipped and decided to replace it since it was insured. My ring is a copy of one that my grandfather wore. I am named after him so it is kinda cool. My original stone was 1.87 carat round and was an I color and an I1 clarity. It had some feathers, but was very eye clean.

Since I have had a really good experience with GOG, I decided to send it to them and let them help me replace it. This is a photo of the original...not the best pic, but you get the picture.

Here is one the pictures that they sent today. This is a 2 carat AV Cushion. I also like some of the Ascher cuts as well as going back with another round. I have about 12-13k to spend, but could go a little more. Does this look too yellow? It is an L, but I bought my wife some L and K diamonds and they rock:) Thoughts??

For me, the ultimate diamond for a man''s ring is the Octavia! have you seen Kenny''s photos?

That said, I also really like the AV cushions and it looks good in the ring. If you like your wife''s diamonds then the color of that one shouldn''t bother you.

I really like the shape of this stone in your ring (vs. a round). I also like the color but thats a personal preference...do
you like it?

I do like it. This is one more pic. I think it is throwing me because I am used to seeing it deeper in the ring. When you look at something for 15 years, you get used to it. I will look at some Octavias. Someone here has an Ascher in a men''s ring that is really nice, that is what gave me the idea.

Kenny has an Asscher in a man''s ring, and a few other whom I cannot recall at the moment. There are no big Octavias in GOG''s stock right now so if you want to go that way you would have to wait I think.

Found Kenny''s threads...wow...really nice!!
I will definitely speak to Jonathan about those.
