For those of you who have used Pricescope vendors....

1. Which vendor was it? (optional response) Whiteflash and Engagement Rings Direct

2. Would you use them again? Yes, in a heartbeat

3. Would you let other PS''ers experiences effect your decision to purchase again? Of course...that is part of why I decided to try out these vendors in the first place. I''m a big believer in forum research, and I have come to find that whether it''s travel or electronics or diamonds, the forum masses rarely lead you astray. But expectations have to be REALISTIC!!!

1. Which vendor was it? (optional response)
--I''ve made multiple purchases with WF, but I also have gotten price quotes and information from other PS vendors for past and future projects. I also used GOG previously for a small project.

2. Would you use them again?
--Yes.

3. Would you let other PS''ers experiences effect your decision to purchase again?
--At this point, no I would not. Maybe when I first came here and was pretty green about who was good, I would have been more easily swayed one way or another by reading a testimonial or a bad experience...but after 3+ years here, I know pretty well who I would love to work with and who I would steer clear of regardless of what others would write or say about them. I also know who has a style most suited to my own and those who I probably would not mesh well with on a project in terms of ideas/styles etc.
One thing not asked here was would I like to use other PS vendors...and the answer is YES. I have a short list of people I''d love to work with at some point in the future, maybe on a fancy shaped stone project or another custom project with something detailed and different than what I have done in the past. We''ll see..it''s all about the ''list'' of jewelry project priorities and budget.

For those of you who have used Pricescope vendors....

1. Which vendor was it? (optional response)

I''ve purchased from 3 vendors......which include a purchase from Wink Jones and several purchases from WF.

2. Would you use them again?

Absolutely......and I''d like to try working with SP, Quest, and ERD (Mark T.) as well.

3. Would you let other PS''ers experiences effect your decision to purchase again?

Yes and no. The yes part: there are some new vendors on the scene lately, and I''m sure that feedback on others'' great experiences would be meaningful to me in cultivating a desire to work with them, too.

The no part: Unless I were to observe what I considered to be a credible pattern of a decline in a vendor''s quality or service, no, others'' experiences wouldn''t influence me---especially for those I''ve already purchased from.

I care about how they treat ME when I work with them. I often find most vendors treat their customer as well as their customers treat them i.e. reasonableness and maturity.

probably not now. I did when I first joined which is how I chose WF and Quest. Once a relationship is formed with a vendor what other''s say can''t change you''re own personal experience with them good or bad, so if you like them, you''ll still like them. I would like to work with Wink, Mark T, and Jonathan at GOG sometime too.

1. I''ve used Whiteflash and Quest

2. Yes, I''d use them again because of quality and customer service

3. Not without relying on my own intuition and common sense. Now that I''ve established a working relationship with these 2 vendors, I''d trust my instincts.

I''ve purchased from:
GOG
Wink Jones
Pearlmans

I''ve worked with but not purchased from:
James Allen
Quest
Engagement Rings Direct (although I have a possible project pending here)

I would use any of these vendors in a heartbeat. I received great service from all, and exceptional service from GOG, Wink and James Allen.

I would take others'' input under advisement, but rely on my own experience to guide me.

HTH!

1. Whiteflash

2. Only place I will buy diamond jewelry from. (Had such a good experience, plus their ACA''s are amazing).

3. I purchased from WF because I read so many good things about them and their ACA''s. My girl''s diamond sparkles so much, I couldn''t be talked out of buying from them (plan on getting diamond studs for her as a wedding present).

James Allen
yes
as for letting other pricescopers influenec my decision--not really. I think alot of the reputations of these vendors is cumulative and many of them offer different advantages. For example and in my opinion only:

Whiteflash: more oriented to round brillienats
GOG: cut cut cut but economically oriented so often cut ,with color etc taking a back seat
ERD: very cushion oriented --but quality/cost balanced

1. I used James Allen and Leon Mege
2. Yes, I''d definitely use them again, but I''m also open to other vendors. Whoever can provide me with the best service, quality, and price will get my business.
3. Other PSers experiences do factor in when I''m deciding who to work with.

For those of you who have used Pricescope vendors....

1. Which vendor was it? (optional response) WhiteFlash and Signed Peices

2. Would you use them again? Yes, without hesitation

3. Would you let other PS''ers experiences effect your decision to purchase again? It depends on the situation, what was involved (purchase wise), the responses and actions and outcome.

1. Whiteflash!
2. YES... in a heartbeat. They gave the best customer service and their quality is outstanding! I would recommend them to anyone including close friends and family.
3. It really depends... it would have to be something really horrible and the response would have to be ugly.

1. I used Dimend Scaasi, in spite of them being way down on the "most talked about" pricescope vendor list. I spoke with Whiteflash, emailed GOG.

2. I AM using them again
2.gif
. Right now.

3. I like to hear all experiences and then make my own conclusions. If I have had great experiences, I would have to hear something OUTRAGEOUS to make me "break up" with no second chances. (Same goes with my husband

) Not knowing the people on PS personally, I can never be sure if our good/bad radars are similar.

I''d say my biggest beef with this issue on Pricescope is that there are so many vendors that are comparable the top 3-4 mentioned time and again on PS, and I don''t think it is fair to those vendors to have newbies only hear about a few names and never think outside the box. That is a general concern--and I don''t know how to fix it--because the vendors that get talked about here deserve their fan base and no one wants to go out on a limb with a vendor with little history on pricescope. But I would hate for PS to turn into an endorsement for certain vendors only. Doesn''t seem to be inthe spirit of the PS creature.

Think of Good Old Gold. Places like PS give a Long Island jeweler a national audience. Great! But perhaps many states have a jeweler like GOG or Mark Morrell that knocks the locals socks off. I love hearing people talk about those folks. I want to KNOW if there is someone like Mark Morrell in my state! And I am sure there is. But how to find them...

Ah, I ramble.

it''s interesting wallermama because i do think PS HAS been instrumental in getting some little known places alot more press. WF, GOG, DCD etc have been here for years, really had just a regional kind of following originally...and they have built up their base transaction after transaction over a few years. a few years ago no one would have said any of those were the ''top 3-4'' or whatever. however, i see others slowly climbing that ladder. aka SP was never discussed a few years ago and Quest has just made their big debut over the last ~2 years or so and they have quite the following going on now. Pearlmans was not on the radar a few years ago either. MM and LM have been around since maybe about a year after I got here but their base has slowly grown, nothing explosive but someone always wants to use them. anyway i do think PS is a great tool for anyone looking and if someone IS good, over time the more people that use them the more they gain a name and positive presence for thesmelves. i don''t think that it will ever be just limited to a few vendors because there are always those with their great experiences with lesser-knowns and the more people that purchase from those LK''s...the larger their base becomes. WF is probably the most talked about vendor on here *now*, but it was not always like that. in a few more years i wouldn''t be surprised to see alot more SP and Quest and DCD/James Allen and Wink than we do now...even more so actually. and maybe people like DiamondScaasi and some others will have made their own big jump as well. interesting stuff regardless.

That''s interesting, to have the historical perspective.... I think it just goes to show that the most important thing people on PS can do (that means you, Lurkers!) is post their experiences. It is such a lovely resource to have and lets awesome vendors shine!

1. Which vendor was it? Whiteflash

2. Would you use them again? Yes

3. Would you let other PS'ers experiences effect your decision to purchase again?
Hmmm...I would never have ordered from an online vendor if I hadn't heard rave reviews from other customers. If I had heard the recent negative reviews, I probably would have been scared off. Good thing I got my ring before!! I love it!

1. Whiteflash
2. Yes. I''m a repeat customer
3. No, not if it is Whiteflash. I had such good experiences with them I would use them again, plus, their ACA are amazing. If it was a PS vendor I have not dealt with before, I may take into account other PS ''er experiences.
