Hey guys!! Long time no talk! Life has been absolutely crazy recently and so I had to put my "dream ring" on the back burner for a little while but now I think we've got it! My final vision is quite different than what I had started with but I definitely think it has evolved into something that I will love for a lifetime.... So tell me what you guys think!

** The yellow diamond halo will be set in yellow gold. NOT in white gold as in the image

I'll comment in a little bit on the ring as I'm in a hurry right now, but OP you need to take down the photo you have posted in your profile. It is against OPSEC. It shows his name, rank, unit and branch of service. You are not supposed to post this information on a public forum. You need to change it!

I think it'll gorgeous. Just a couple of questions: do you want the stone set that high above the halo? And in RL, will the head have that gap from the shank? Nothing wrong if your answer is 'yes', just wanted to know it's the way you intended. :)
Looking forward to seeing the real thing! How long will it take once you've given final approval?

I was JUST thinking about this ring the other day! So you changed your mind on the spit shank?

OP sory about my first post! I was trying to get it out quickly and then run to my meeting.

I really like the ring- especially the two tone halo! I think the contrast will be stunning. My only issue is I feel like the halo is almost like a raised disc ontop of the ring. It just sort of attaches on the 2 shafts. It just doesn't seem fluid to me. Could they curve the struts? Or just do something to make it look less like they just dropped if on top?

Thanks!! Its been an absolute headache (mostly because I'm indecisive) but I think we've finally made it haha. I've also received the wax mold and the stone doesn't sit up as high as it appears in the CAD and the the gap in the shank will also be there. My jeweler said that with that I will be able to get a band to sit flush. I think once I give the okay it will take about 4 weeks. I actually don't live near the jeweler anymore, I've since moved about 3 hours away but I plan on making that hike as soon as I get the go ahead haha. :D

Niel - Yeah I went back and forth on the reverse split shank idea for a long time and then I saw a ring with this time shank and I fell in love!
Sarah- I never really noticed the halo being "plopped" before until you mentioned it. It doesn't bother me per-say but I do wonder if there is anything they could do. -- In regards to the photo...No apologies needed. ;) I'm pretty sure that my photo wasn't a violation of OPSEC/PERSEC b/c i blurred his name and there is no info regarding base/mission/deployment etc but it definitely didn't need to be posted especially when I have my precious pup I should be bragging about :rodent: . So the advice is much appreciated!

My halo has the same type of connection to the shank, as you can see in this pic

I do find on its own to be more jarring than other baskets, but for a pear I find it nice because it helps your w band sit really really flush fit. Plus, not really noticeable when your wearing a wedding band with it.

No worries. I actually recongised the badge and uniform right away which sort of gives him away especially to those of us that know what to look for. OPSEC varies depending on branch of service and his command. I know for us we aren't allowed to post any pictures of them in uniform besides BDU's. It is always best to check as you don't want to get into trouble. From his patches alone I could figure out his MOS etc.

I would see if they could curve the struts. Or possible lower them? Will there be space between the shank and diamond? If so I would see what options they give you to make the ring look more streamlined.

EDIT- and yes the pooch is adorable! I LOVE the glasses!!!!!! :appl: :appl:

I would prefer to see the yellow gold 'bun' down a bit I dont like it stuck up in the air like that. But Niel's idea to have it open at the bottom would be a nice alternative.

Thanks everyone for such great feedback! And Niehl your ring is beautiful and my jeweler also mentioned that having the halo set that way will allow my band to sit flush. Im going to ask him if maybe he can do something more gradual into the halo. Something more like these.

I do like that better. If I could have had ritani do that I totally would have, but it wasn't an option. If they can do that I think it would be best, but I'd they can't I think the way the current cads are would honestly be just fine.

Oh, it's going to be gorgeous!!! I love the yellow halo and the euro shank!!!
