I''m dying to see some new James Meyer eyecandy!! He said he''d be getting to mine by the end of this week, but I''m wondering how yours are going. Any word?

Jim put up a new 1.83 ct cushion in WG for sale on his website. Check it out here. I think its very drool worthy.

OMG! I think I did a little wee of excitement looking at that ring! If I was going to be upgrading, that would 100% be my upgrade. I love it. Wow. I can''t wait to see all of your pieces.

dreamer_d – I bought a 1.33 L VS2 antique cushion that Jim had on hand. I’m having in placed in his 1331 setting. He had a few sapphires and cushion/round diamonds on hand but the girlfriend liked this diamond the most. She loves the thought of this cushion having such a long history and I''m happy with the color because I think it adds to the antique aura.

SapphireLover – The thought did cross my mind to just spring for this ring instead and blow my budget wide open (this cushion was never shown to us as it wasn’t within our stated budget). I kind of floated the idea by the GF and she said she thought it was gorgeous but would have literally choked if I spent that much on a ring.

Lil, Jim is creating 1373 with my 12 carat star sapphire.

I just emailed Jim and he wrote me back within five minutes.

He said he hasn’t started on it yet as he is behind on where he thought he would be but he will be working on it soon barring the unforeseen. He also said he is still planning on having it completed before he leaves to Italy which is the timeline we initially talked about. He goes on vacation in three weeks.

He did say he would write me once he started working on it which is nice. Maybe I''ll get lucky and he''ll send me some work in progress pics.

Well, I''m glad you know where he''s at, but doesn''t he know we need our fix of new pieces?? I''m just excited and desperately looking for something to distract me. I''ll be keeping my eye on this thread.

If I get the ring before Jim travels to Italy everything should work out fine.

I’m a little paranoid he won’t finish it before he leaves though. Three weeks doesn’t seem like a lot of time but who knows. In my mind he has to be done with it in two weeks because I still have to send him the final amount of money and it needs to clear his bank account. I don’t think he would send me the ring until he knows the money is all in order. Hopefully it all works out.

My ring is on its way! He sent it out on Tuesday. He sent it to my home address, so I will probably have to get to the post office since I work during the day. Did not want to send it to my work address. I will update as soon as I receive it!

I want in on the JM action...I am close to pulling the trigger. I always envisioned a bright blue sapphire but I am thinking...PURPLE in a 1345. What do you think?
Reggie, what made you pick 1331? It looks stockier than the 1345. I am becoming a PS junkie.

lil425 – Yea! I’m so excited for you. I’m going to live vicariously through your pictures until I get mine. I hope you don’t mind.

brightblue – The soon to be fiancé initially picked this setting because she liked the general style of the setting and the small diamonds on the side. She was indifferent on what kind of metal to be used. I actually asked Jim if he felt the cushion I bought from him would look better in WG or in a different setting as I was very open to his ideas. He still felt that the 1345 was the best choice for that specific cushion. Also, Jim really likes to work in YG (he will do other kinds of metals as well) so I think I am getting a ring that screams his style which I think it pretty cool.

I believe 1331 is proportionally the same as the 1345. The only difference is the change in color and the small side diamonds. Maybe a cab in the setting makes the setting look stockier?

I do know that other people on this board have expressed concern that Jim’s “platform” style settings look a little on the high side (stockier I guess you could say) when looking at his pictures. I believe those people pretty much changed their mind once they saw the ring in person.

As for your idea about using a purple stone I think it would look pretty cool. Any color would look great really.

Uppy-thanks for your support, too! I have never bought a beautiful piece of jewelry and it is nerve wracking! I am also thinking of ering G to go with it...This is my 25th anniversary replacement set.
