Rediscovering old Jewelry

Do you ever put something away and forget you have it, only to stumble upon it later and fall back in love with it?

For my 20th birthday (a few years ago, ahem...) my mother gave me this OEC ring set in 14kt YG. Actually, her grandmother, my great-grandmother had received it from her brother for her 16th birthday. It has never been appraised but it's probably about a .20 or .25 carat OEC.

The other ring is my Thai ruby ring. My aunt got it for me in Thailand when I was about 21 years old.

I wore this combination all through college and then took them off for grad school. They had been living in my safe deposit box and I went there today and literally stumbled upon them and got them out to enjoy them once again.

It's really fun to "reconnect with old friends" - the ruby ring is special to me, too, because my aunt knew I love rubies and when she was staying in Thailand, she made every effort to bring back some for me!
