Hi everyone,

SO and I purchased a diamond on Blue Nile thanks to many recommendations and advice of you guys, received the diamond last week, and are now in the process of insuring the stone and eventually getting it set. The insurance company is asking for an invoice or receipt of the setting from the jeweler, but before I proceed with my jeweler, I wanted to see if the PS community had any recommendations for a jeweler in either Los Angeles or Orange County to set my stone.

I'm not necessarily unhappy with my jeweler by any means, but I'm willing to look at other options.

I am looking for a round halo setting for a RB diamond. I prefer a daintier halo and 1.5/1.7/2.0 mm band, I do not like chunky halos.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated, thank you!

David Klass and Victor Canera, depending on your style preferences and price range. (Ask VC if he would set your outside stone.)

I second David Klass and Victor Canera.

Victor creates stunning and delicate halos. All handforged. He masters the art of pave halos. If you have the budget, I would opt for Victor.

David is in a lower pricerange and creates both cast and handforged styles. Very nice jeweller to work with.

Just a note that if you want a straightforward round in round halo, you may not need to go custom (which while fun, can be very hard). Ritani, Stuller, Roseco, Unique Settings, Adwar all are available to most jewelers. Branded settings like Verragio, Tacori, Vatche, Simon G etc. are sold through authorized vendors.

That said, I totally agree about DK and VC. They both have Instagram feeds that can be helpful to look over. If you are open to working with a vendor not in your immediate areas, I also love Maytal Hannah and Steven Kirsch.

I have a double sided ‘twisted’ Emilya from Victor Canera with a cushion shaped kite set halo. I also have a three-sided pave bright cut set halo. His detailing is top notch. More designs he made for various PSers can be seen here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/post-your-victor-canera-beauties-here.175281/

Yeah- Robbins Bros, for example, have most major setting designers that rocky mentioned.
