Recommendation for Tapered Baguette Diamonds

I've been a lurker for quite some time and after reading countless posts on PS, I've bought my diamond and am very happy with it. Thank you all!

I'm actually planning to set the diamond with a pair of tapered baguettes and was wondering what size/color of baguette should I choose and is there anywhere online that sells tapered baguette diamonds? My center diamond is a round 0.62ct D VS2.

Diamonds are quite pricey here in my country (but custom made rings are not) so I'm planning to buy my diamonds online and get them set here

the color and size would depend on your liking and the kind of look you want to achieve.

Color of the baguettes depends on the size of the baguettes. If you use bigger baguettes, go for higher color if you are color adverse. You get the idea.

Personally speaking, the matching of sidestones should be kept with 2 grades of the main stone if I were buying the setting. So, the minimum i go to would be F color in your case.

Tapered baguette settings are very common ready made. I would just find one on eBay. I bought several on eBay for great prices. With your diamond size you aren't looking for big side stones. It is best to have whoever is making your ring source them for you.

I would agree with this. I have also bought a few (ok well 2) of these setting off ebay. With your diamond size you want something on the more petite size or else the proportions will look off. It would be much cheaper to just buy the setting plus diamonds online as 1 piece vs. buying diamonds and then having them set.

I did have a look around but couldn't find any I liked . All the settings I saw had 4 prongs but I want something with 6 prongs. Plus, I'm scared the sizing will be way off (I'm in Malaysia and I think the sizing here is a bit different. Don't even think it's standard 'Asian' cause when I converted the size I tried at Tiffany and the one at a local jeweler, it didn't tally with online converters

)

But yes, I'll definitely ask the jeweler for a quote. I guess I was slightly put off by the price I was given for the center diamond

Some eBay vendors can customize your setting for a very low added fee, so changing it from 4 to 6 prongs isn't an issue.

In terms of size, I was talking about the ct weight for your center stone. I don't think that requires conversion. I am also thinking given the size of your diamond - it may look better with 4 prongs so that the diamond is not as covered by 6 prongs.

This vendor is pretty popular in Singapore - do you want to consider it since it is at least on the same coast

I take back my comment around 4 versus 6 prongs. This diamond is about the size of your diamond - I think the setting, size of baguettes and prongs work.
