Got engaged this past weekend and she absolutely loves the ring, however, we want to do a minor resizing on it and don't want to send back to JA and wait the 2-3 weeks and would rather do it in person. I know JA offers free resizing for 60 days, but i don't think the price difference will be too different sending it back as opposed to doing it at a local jeweler.

I'm hoping someone in the NORTH DFW area can recommend someone on here that is trust worthy and is reputable on this message board. Or if you think sending it back to JA would be the best option, please feel free to let me know that as well. Thanks everyone!

I do not know how all vendors handle these types of requests, but before having any work done locally, always check with the original vendor to see how that might affect any warranties, services, upgrade policies, etc...

^^this. And other than shipping, sizing us covered by JA. If a stone falls out, they'll likely replace it,whereas at your jeweler, they'll tack it onto the bill.

Yeah I should do that, I was just trying to get a quicker turnaround time, thank you both for your input.

It is sometimes frustrating to have to wait for things like this - everything else we do seems so immediate! I need a ride, right now - Uber, I need a restaurant recommendation - Yelp, it si all in the palm of our hand. The ring is designed and crafted to (hopefully) last a life-time... a few weeks on the front end is usually worth it.

I get all that too and that makes sense, but my logic on this was trying to avoid 2 more times the ring needs to be shipped, which still makes me uncomfortable shipping something so expensive, and i figured for something like a resizing there would be someone in such a metropolitan area that can do the job as well if not better than JA. Plus giving some business to a local establishment is also a plus, JA already made some money from me and i figure this wouldn't cost too much more or slightly more (which is okay) compared to shipping this overnight with insurance. Perhaps sending it back is the way to go though as that seems to be the consensus from those of you that have responded.

Hate to void any warranty.

The others are right about the warranty. I will also add that I live in this area and don't have anyone I recommend. It's worth sending it back to JA.

I live in the area and can recommend someone, but I agree you should send it back to JA so it doesn't void the warranty.

I'll be sending it back, thanks for the input folks, much appreciated.
