I've been researching my buy for a few weeks now, and I finally made a purchase today. I was very excited (sight unseen) about my purchase, until I read about star length. What does everyone think? Will the following GIA specs be okay?

Again, sight unseen:

Cost: $12,340

GIA:

Shape and Cutting Style: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 6.73 - 6.77 x 4.07 mm

Carat Weight: 1.13
Color Grade: E
Clarity Grade: INTERNALLY FLAWLESS
Cut Grade: Excellent

Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: Medium Blue
Comments: Minor details of the polish are not shown.

Depth %: 60.3
Table %: 58
Crown Angle: 34.0
Star: 45%
Pavilion Angle: 40.6
Crown %: 14.0
Pavilion %: 43.0
Lower Girdle %: 80
Girdle: Medium (faceted, 3.5%)
Cutlet: None/Pointed

AGA/NAJA Cut Class:
Tab Percent: 1A
Crown Angle: 1A
Crown Height: 1B
Pavilion Depth: 1A
Girdle: 1A
Depth: 1A
Polish: 1A
Symmetry: 1A
TotalGrade: 1A

HCA: 0.5-0.7 TIC (Considering GIA rounding)

Will a star length of 45% be a problem? I understand that it may be as high as 47.4% due to rounding.

Thanks, and I really appreciate all of the education that Pricescope has provided throughout my search!

It sounds near perfect! Lucky lady! Please post a photo when you get it

Sounds like a beautiful stone! =)

From the info that you have provided it looks to be a lovely diamond. I assume that you were unable to receive an Ideal scope image of the stone?

Here is an article on minor facets, in case you haven't seen it.

It's my understanding (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) that the light return through the stars is driven by the LGF's. Your stone has nice long LGF's at 80% which will help drive light through the stone and to the viewers eye.

I assume you purchased with a return policy in the event that you are unhappy with your purchase? Your stone has a very high color and clarity grade, some people value this, others don't like to pay a premium for characteristics that they can't visually appreciate, for instance a VS2 can look identical to a IF stone to the naked eye, or a G color once set can look every bit as white as an F without having to pay the significant premium for it. I just want to be sure that you value the high color and clarity enough to pay this premium or sacrifice additional size.

Looks beautiful!!! Good luck with your proposal!!! And please come back with hand shots.

It looks beautiful. Congratulations.

That is just stunning! Congratulations!

Looks great!

But as Christina said, many are okay with going a little lower in color and clarity because the difference is not discernible (especially the clarity). If these are important to you/the recipient, then it's a good purchase.

Just to give an example of what a similar price could buy with slightly lower (still great) color and clarity: Brian Gavin Signature 1.226 G VS2 for $11,400. http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.226-g-vs2-round-diamond-ags-104063650002

If you have a return policy on your current diamond, it's something to consider... otherwise, sorry to show it...
