Received my warm colored AVC today

The stone is beautiful - warm but white (like china white benny moore paint) No hint of yellow......just warm. It looks loverly on your hand. Can't wait to see it set.

Renogirl - you asked to let you know what I thought of the stone after having it for a few days. I was away for the weekend, thus away from the stone. I took it out last night when I came home. Well, I still love it. I looked at it last night in candlelight during dinner. It was firing off sparks of light like you wouldn't believe. So pretty. This morning is rainy and dull here in the South and I took the diamond out to look at it again. In my dim house this morning you can see the warmth in the stone. It has a yellow tint (especially because I have camel and green colored walls, but it doesn't bother me whatsoever. I looked at it outside and it appears white. I love the different personalities the stone seems to take on in different environments - it is like having a bunch of different diamonds.

I will be keeping her for sure. I am planning to send her away to Victor Canera this week and finalize some plans for setting once he receives the stone. I am toying with a few different ideas right now among them the Sophia setting, an art deco setting with french cut traps and bullets, or uniform french cut band. I just can't make up my mind - they all sound so nice. I guess this is a good dilemma to have.

I am in the middle of buying a AVC from GOG myself. I'm glad you are keeping yours. I would like to ask you how you are getting your AVC insured while it's being set? I'm thinking of having BGD setting my mine.

Hi hslaomee. Congratulations on picking out your very own AVC! - I (along with many others here I suspect) would love to hear the details.

To answer your question - once I decided I was keeping the diamond for sure, I knew I needed to have insurance for the diamond while it was being set. I have USAA homeowners insurance and they do not cover loose stones. I spoke with someone at Jewelers Mutual. I found out that I to get insurance for the stone while it was being set required me to have an appraisal for the stone including the certification (which came with the AVC from GOG) and an appraisal for the setting. JM said they would accept a detailed description and value from the jeweler that was setting the stone. I knew I was going with Victor Canera for the setting - Victor sent me the description. Once I had those documents in hand, I applied for the insurance online and mailed out the information to JM. So, that was last week. I mailed the diamond to Victor Canera registered insured mail. Now I am just waiting for confirmation from JM that they received the paperwork and we are good to go. I will let you know once that happens.

I'm glad the JM route works out for you. My boyfriend and I now live in London therefore we have limited options. We are going to have the AVC set in the cheapest setting first then have the ring insured by USAA. They are able to insure the ring at our London address. We are really pleased with that. For the main time I am still looking for a setting.

WOW!! I can not wait to see your stone set! Fantastic choice. I've fallen in love with the AVC and anique cushions as well, and am going back and forth trying to decide whether to upgrade now or later. I love the warmth and the big bold flashes! Very lucky girl, I'm so happy for you and can't wait to see how you decide to set that beauty!
