I want some nice diamond earrings, approx 75 points each ear. I''ve looked at everything from Tiffanys ($13K) to local retailers for $2-6,000. Lowest price doing Pricescope search for I-K color, SI stones comes to about minimum of $1250 per stone plus mounting. I don''t want to pay Tiffany prices and don''t require the highest quality but I''d like something nice and sparkly that I can be proud of and that, in theory, might retain some future value. From my shopping experience, I''d say I''m not particular color sensitive. What do you think my budget should be?

Ditto to Skippy. I bought mine from WF, can upgrade if I want. They are gorgeous...

Thank you. I'' m not ready to spend that much. What about these from Whiteflash? They are not ACA but I''ve asked them for more info in cut. Hoping they come in as very good or better cut.

They are somewhat down in color but I really want the size.

San Diego Searcher - Are you firm on diamond studs specifically?

If not, you may be interested in diamond "inside out" hoops. Click here for pic

I just got a 1.50 ctw pair made by Precision Set for $2,800.00. They are gorgeous and I love them ... I wanted studs myself but the hoops were so beautiful that I thought I would get them first and cross my fingers that my bf will get me a 1.50 ctw pair of studs in the future as well ... wedding pressie, maybe.

If you are only looking for studs ... good luck. 1.50 ctw seems like a really nice size!

Good luck with your search.

Thank you....those are really beautiful. But this started for me when I had my ears repierced. I''m having trouble getting them totally healed and the dermatologist said platinum or 24k gold would be best. I was going to reset some tiny studs but decided I needed 1 ctw...then decided I needed bigger...you know how it goes. So now here I am obsessing on which ones to get. Those hoops are gorgeous but I don''t think they''d be an everyday earring for me, nor could I sleep in them. Enjoy.

Thanks San Diego Searcher ... I''m sorry I wasn''t able to help.
You are right ... I have to take them out. I can''t sleep in them either.

I''m sure the 1.50 ctw studs you are seeking will be perfect for you and will look lovely in your ears. ... I love the "I needed bigger" ... Isn''t that always the case?

Yes...It was only a few weeks ago I said "half carat each ear is absolutely big enough"....then I tried on some 80 pointers...............

why don''t you consider the GoG ready-set go studs because they DO offer 100% value lifetime trade up with them, unlike many other vendors with ready set studs. Jon at GOG can sure pick a great diamond and I am sure all of these are awesome looking at good value. http://www.goodoldgold.com/hastuds/

I bet he can find you lower color, but will look very white face up if good cut.

Thanks for the suggestion. Does this mean you don''t like the ones I posted from Whiteflash and James Allen?

I was just making other suggestions because for me personally I like to have someone''s eyes checking this stuff out for me- especially with this online stuff. To my understanding (I might be worng here)- james Allen is not going to look at the ones you selected and say "yes- these are winners." I have learned... and you can see from videos and such... that not all well graded stones have IDEAL LIGHT PERFORMANCE. WF is safer because they will give honest opinion if they are going to back with lifetime guarentee. GOG is in same boat as WF.

It seems you are set on size and want a good looking diamond that is eye- clean. Since you have done your reserach... if I were you I would say my budget is this. And then see if GOg and/or WF can get you the BEST diamonds they can within your budget. As long as eye clean... I would want to try to gte the best color and cut I could afford.

Thanks Green....I appreciate the advice. This gets overwhelming...deciding whether to to online or with B&M and which to purchase. I have asked Whiteflash to get more info on these stones of theirs that I posted. Do you have an opinion on them from what you can see here?
