Really, really great UK jeweller for micropave

Hi all

Does anyone have a recommendation for a really great UK jeweller. Long story short, I have a 1.22ct pear that I would like set in a Victor Canera Emilya style setting.

I've been to a few London jewellers and been told yes yes, no problem, only to see their work and find its nothing like the quality of what I've seen from US jewellers. I really like the details like the angled halo, curved struts, how neat it is generally, and I don't necessarily feel like they are "getting" that. I am aware I'm probably a total PIA customer but it's obviously important to me that I get exactly what I'm looking for.

If I was in the US I would be going straight to Victor but I'm loathe to send the stone backwards and forwards. But if I comes to it I will have to do that.

If anyone can help I would be eternally grateful!

Hi,

I replied on your other thread about cathedral or not - I'm also in the UK and did end up sending my stone to Victor. I thought the best looking one I found here was Daniel Prince, but I wasn't convinced his stuff would be quite delicate enough. Maybe worth going to have a look?

I will say that sending the stone to Victor was pretty seamless.

Hi Jaaron - thanks again for replying. I actually got a quote from Daniel which was the same number in sterling as the quote from Victor was in dollars - so it seems like a no brainer to go for VC. I really need to make a decision as I would love to have the ring before my engagement party on 17th April!!

I live in Germany and always fly to the UK for all my jewellery needs because I have absolute confidence in 1 company. Harriet Kelsall have studios in Hertfordshire and Cambridge (I have only been to the Hertfordshire office) so they're fairly convenient for London.
Check out their website (google it, I don't want to post a link and look like I'm advertising or something).
I mean, in a sense I am advertising because I really think they are an exceptional jewellers, but I have no affiliation with them and as far as I know they don't do any referral program. They specialise in bespoke jewellery so if you already have a setting and stone it will be a doddle for them to set it for you. If however you need a complete bespoke ring, they'll surely want to talk with you face-to-face and make some sketches up for you. 6 weeks is cutting it close for a full design I think, but if you have the ring already I guess they would do the work on the same day if you plan with them in advance.

I've had 1 engagement ring, 2 wedding rings and 1 pendent for a necklace made by them. Check out THIS thread for a picture of the pendent they made for me (my basic design idea which they perfected for me). For this they set 4 FCDs which I purchased myself.

!

Then you need to go with Victor. It's the only way to get exactly what you are looking for.
