Is there any such thing as a swiss-topaz-blue lab diamond?

Can you post an example of the color you're after?

Have you tried Stienhardt & Stones? ... They have a Fancy Color Lab Diamond tab and have lots of blue stones... You may be able to find one in the hue you are looking for...

Hey all!!
In general, Irradiated blue diamonds ( lab or natural) are deeper blue than the pic that Karl posted.
This is maybe the closest I've seen in an irradiated blue
blue.jpg

The HPHT "Boron Blues" are generally lighter than the pic Karl posted...we have had clients looking for sapphire and topaz like colors....they've been a bit open-minded because a diamond ( lab or natural) isn't going to look like a saph or topaz.... ( IMO)

How so?
Would a lab-grown bluish diamond be more or less brilliant than a similar colored sapphire or topaz?

Easy answer would be diamond given that the diamond in question has no transparency or other issues.
But I think that overlooks the sort of color a gem quality sapphire possesses. Sort of the same discussion about super ideal round diamonds. We can show that they are most brilliant using scientific methods. But that doesn’t mean most desirable to everyone.
Diamonds do have an edge to the other stones when it comes to durability, and hardness

You take blue diamond, topaz and sapphire of the same color in normalized lighting side by side they are going to look totally different from one another.
The surface appearance aka crystal is totally different.
The light return is totally different.
The change in appearance in different lighting is not remotely the same.
Many more things......

I wish I could see all 3 gemstones at the same time.

Correction. LGD has the same video for two stones
They use the same videos and pic for many different stones in the colored diamond listings..
