Real Tiffany & Co. platinum diamond key or fake?

I came across this platinum diamond key on eBay, the seller provided very little information regarding it aside from photos. Judging from the photos it looks real to me. However I cannot find a match on Tiffany's website. Maybe it is an older version? Or maybe it is fake.

If anybody can shed some light for me about this would be much much appreciated! Is it real? If so approx. how many carats? Which year was it from? What was the retail price?

Thank you in advance!

Can't say for sure, but it is not a design I remember Tiffany's ever doing -- which isn't definitive; I don't know everything they ever made.

Another red flag for me is that the Tiffany & Co. on the box or whatever in the background is crooked -- looks like it's been photoshopped on. For safety's sake I'd keep looking -- it's not worth losing whatever they're asking for it. My gut feeling is that it's hinky.

I see... i feel the same. unless i can find a definitive match i would not buy it either.
The key itself looks real, but because the asking price is high it makes me thinks twice...
I wonder if there is a glossary for the keys Tiffany makes.

HI:

Any original receipts?

cheers--Sharon

I think the design of the key is real. I found it on the Tiffany's website:

I can't tell if your Ebay one is a genuine or just a copy, though.

I must be REALLY bad at searching... I went on the international home page -> pendant -> keys, and only got back 53 results, and no past design. Please tell me how you have discover this design? thank you!

Yeah these design are very good. you can chose any one

Hello,
I know this is a few months late and you probably don't have the opportunity to purchase that necklace, but I stumbled upon this forum just now as I was looking up this particular tiffany's pendant. This is either 100% real, or a very good phony!
In June of 2009 my fiancé had purchased the same pendant for me in NYC. Mine is platinum with diamonds, and cost $5,000 (not sure if that included the platinum chain or not, but I don't believe so..) I really don't know much more about this particular design- I would really love to know if it has a name (that is why I came searching on here) But I would say that hopefully you made that purchase because it really is a beautiful piece!
Another fun fact- On one of my many return trips to the store to get my necklace steam cleaned, the man that was helping me mentioned that this particular design had to be cleared from their store (possibly discontinued all together) fairly soon after it's release. When I asked why he mentioned that the shape of the "flower" in the middle was very similar to the Luis Vuitton Brand symbol (which is directly across the street from that Tiffany's store)

Good luck!
