Hi,

I have been reading up on this website here quite a bit lately and am ready to purchase, but would like to have your feedback before I pull the trigger.

Can you please tell me what you think of these stones? They are EGL certified, which I dont know much about, but I was hoping maybe you could guide me in the right direction if these aren't the best I can get. Obviously I'd like to get a stone that is the whitest, biggest and the most sparkly that I can afford. Budget is about $15,000 for the stone. I am setting aside some money for the actual ring - about $2k for the Vatche Tiffany replica. :naughty:

If you can find a stone from another website that is better, would love to have your help.

Where are you comfortable colour and size-wise? Some people are very colour sensitive and want d-e-f and others are okay even up to j-coloured diamonds. Considering the diamonds you've posted, seems like you aren't sure about size or don't have any expectations that way.

I don't know much about shopping for RB diamonds but I do know you should use an HCA tool to weed out the baddies and look only for GIA or AGS ideal cuts if you want max sparkle, fire, brightness and brilliance.

Here's one that's a nice size for the money if you can handle the j-colour and fluor!

I think we need to know more of your expectations, wants, etc. In any case, I personally wouldn't buy an EGL graded stone, they've been proven to grade quite soft compared to AGS/GIA. Even one color grade difference could mean hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. I also wouldn't suggest buying an SI2 stone without any real pictures and a review from their gemologist.

I suggest sticking with vendors that supply idealscope/ASETs so you can make an informed decision. I wouldn't pay attention to the 'retail price' and the 'sale price' on sites like Brilliance, especially when the difference is upwards 40%. No, they are not giving you a special price out of the goodness of their hearts ;)

I'd check with WF if this is eye clean to your standards (their standard is looking at 10 inches from the top, while you might want one that has no visible inclusions at 6 inches from all sides). I do like the BGD stone lin_ny posted, but its up to you whether you're willing to drop down to a J color. The fluorescence will help the stone look whiter, but only in light that has UV in it (bright sunlight, etc)

Out of the three stones I would prefer 2.01ct, however since the stones are EGL I would be comfortable only if the Photo provided be the stone prior to purchase, EGL is not the perfect/accurate in grading that is one of the reason why Pser suggests here to go with GIA if possible, are you open for suggestions in GIA?

Look for an AGS 0

Thanks so much for the good advice. So happy to have found this forum. I will choose AGS or GIA and come back with some possibilities. More to come!

Cheers -
Steven

And I am open to suggestions for sure!

That 3.72ct stone, if it was a GIA/AGS H-SI2, it would be worth many times the asking price of 17k. My assumption would be that it's in reality an I1 or I2 clarity, which would make the price appropriate. It's almost definitely not eye clean, but it may be worth checking if brilliance.com will look into it for you.

This one is very nice:

If you're willing to give up a bit of cut quality for size:

This one might be the best, though. I have no idea why this didn't make the cut for ACA:
