Ready for a reset!

Hello PSers! Long time, no see! I used to visit PS often when I was selecting my engagement ring nearly six years ago. After that, I wasn't in the market for diamonds. But, I'm getting ready to celebrate my five-year wedding anniversary, so I'm ready to rest my diamond.

I attached a photo of the original setting (I think!). My diamond is a 1.4-carat princess cut, E, VS2. I'm thinking of resetting it with princess cut channel set sidestones and I might add a matching band. I'm not sure what carat weight is approprate for the e-ring setting and additional band. I don't want it to be too "delicate," but I also don't want the sidestones to upstage my center stone.

Any suggestions?

Beautiful setting - thanks for your reply! We are looking to spend around $5,000 for the reset, plus a matching band. I definitely want platinum. Do you think that's doable in our budget?

yes, that should be doable...the set I linked is slightly over budget but I think you should be able to find something!
