Hey guys! After my endless obsession with browsing through all the forums that have appeared on this page, I have finally decided to join! Woo hoo! So back to my original topic... I''ve been obsessed with Michael B. since my then fiance (now husband) proposed to me with a Michael B. petite princess engagement ring (I have the matching wedding band as well). Well, I was being bad one day, and went back to the store where he got my ring at, to of course get my rings cleaned, as well as browse through the other Michael B. jewelry

. As my rings were getting cleaned, I looked at his section to find his lace collection. I tried some of the rings on and have since been obsessed about searching for one as a right hand ring. Fast forward a month later, and I came across one on ebay. I currently wear a size 5 on my right hand and the ring for sale is a size 6. Does anyone know if the lace bands can be sized down? Oh, and the ring is made out of platinum.

I was looking at the lace bands (and ended up having a very similar custom band made). On three separate occassions I asked the people at Michael C FIna if it could be sized and they all said yes--that it was tricky but possible.

Personally I think 1 size is the absolute most you could go and it would probably be better to only do 1/2.

All that to say, I would call Michael B and ask them what they think about sizing since they manufacture the rings:-)

So pretty!!! If i were you, I wouldn''t have posted this because let me tell you.. if I wasn''t a starving student that would be mine right now! On to the sizing question - At one point I was looking at the lace rings too because they are SO GORGEOUS! I was told that sizing could be done on the underside of the band, but maybe you should consider having sizing beads put in?? Just a thought.. Also, I''d consider asking the seller for a couple close shots of the ring itself just to make sure it''s not too banged up. I hope you get it!!

For that design, I think I''d go with sizing beads before I''d attempt to have it sized ... it''s intricate enough that I think it will look a little "off" no matter how carefully the work is done.

definitely call Matthew at Micheal''s b store and ask. they will be honest and they will tell you how much it will cost if they can do it. I wouldn''t let anyone size it but them.

HI:

Agreed. Such a gorgeous ring!

And if they can size it only 1/2 a size smaller--maybe they can "thicken/heighten" the shank or some such other trick!

cheers--Sharon

As others said - it probably can be sized - assuming it has not been before, it would just need someone with an experienced hand at it.

I have had some rather complicated bands sized (not the lace but similar idea) - a local independent here sends them to another jeweler in another province and it takes a bit longer but he does a great job!

I would contact Michael B for sure about it. Best to go to original designer and/or benchperson if possible!

thanks everyone for the advice. now i do have another question for you all... does anyone know how many mm the width of the band is?

I don''t think it is sizable. At least... not without it showing the sizing. As for width. I''m fairly sure it''s around 3mm.
