Re-setting Question

I wasn't sure where to post this.

Since seeing a couple of lovely "chubby arrows" diamonds, I've been casually parsing through various sites looking in around the 1.3ct size to replace an existing stone. My question is, if the setting currently accommodates a 7mm stone, is a 7.1 x 7.15 stone too large? It seems like it should be okay, but mm's count!

It's a very simple, basic 6-prong white gold head.

ETA: I meant to put this in the lab forum...Guess it's not critical as it's about the setting.

Possibly. If your setting is used - yes - it might not be as accomodating as when new.
Take that question and the ring to a jeweler, and be prepared to get the stinkeye.

LOL! Thanks, @Ibrakeforpossums, when/if I ever decide, I’ll check first. I’ve owned the ring since new, and rarely wear it, so the prongs, etc., are like new.
