I've got to get Millie (our 30 pound 2 year old corgie/lab) transitioned from sleeping in the guest room to sleeping in the living room. Going to be a challenge, but I've got a week to get it done.

I need some sort of a baby gate to keep her in the room until she gets used to the idea.

Does anyone know of any baby gates (or other products) to go in standard door opening that would be strong enough to not just push out when she jumps on it? It also needs to be taller (4 ft min) so she can't just go over.

I'm also open to other ideas of DIY gates/doors or whatever.

This may not be the cheapest option, but i really like these gates. They can be moved around from room to room and don't need to be permanently installed. When put in correctly, they are really hard to pull out of place. You could stack two in a doorframe:

Cheaper than any of the dog gates I've looked at!

Thanks for the suggestion. I love your idea about mounting a second one above if needed! That is so much easier than trying to find a 5'+ gate...

I found one of these on Craigslist for $15.

I think I'm going to call the woman and see about picking it up. There are lots more of the same type on Craigslist so I can easily get a second one if needed.

Hope it works! I cannot take credit for the stacking idea-- someone I know has a daughter who could climb over a single so she stacked them!
