I''m within a whisker of buying a stone, but would love some final input / encouragement on it. I have it on hold.

Image and Idealscope attached

The specs are:

SI1, G, 1.66ct
Crown: 34
Pav: 41
Depth: 60.6
Table: 60
Gird: Med-slthick
Cut: None
Lower half: 80%
Number to the left of the table on the GIA report: 60% (don''t know what that is)

Polish: VG
Sym: EX

Cut: Ex

Fluor: Strong Blue

Eye-clean and not overblue per James Allen. Should I bite? Price is like $9100 I believe.

Looks good to me.

It doesn't seem terribly eye-clean - the largeish black inclusion under the table would definately drive me bonkers (I would inspect my diamond closer than 8 inches so dealbreaker).

Otherwise the optics are fabulous

How well can you see? - JA rates eye-clean at 8-10 inches.

Numbers look good for a 60/60 type stone.

Although technically eye clean I strongly suspect that at closer distances and in some lighting you will see that table inclusions. Maybe not, but worth asking if that matters to you.

If it is verified eyeclean it could be a definite contender.

I will email James Allen again regarding the eye-cleanliness. I do want it to be eye-clean from close inspection. All they said was it is "eye-clean from all angles."

Otherwise the Idealscope looks good? Decent price for the stone?

Thanks!

Make sure you emphasize that point so you and the vendor are both on the same page. Yes the IS looks good and JA are competitively priced.

Ditto.

I have an inclusion in my diamond that looks a lot like that larger balck table inclusion, and I can see it at 6 inches in low lighting very easily.

I have a very similar situation.....a stone rated with SI1 clarity. I inspected in a room with window light and store lights, couldn''t see the one dark carbon spot at the table. I could easily see it in the loop. I didn''t ask to inspect it in low light, but because of your thread you have me thinking. Other than that, I love the stone I''m contimplating on calling mine..........
I''ll be watching your outcome...wish I had some advice. Good luck!!

those black inclusions would really bother me; that''s probably why it''s priced so low.
