Rant about inappropriate clothing on children!

I guess I just don''t have any experience with theatrics, but the idea of putting makeup on my 4 year old makes me cringe. I''m ok with her doing a show but at this age she can go bare-faced, it''s just a little show for parents. And the studio wanted the parents to apply makeup to the little ones - I might feel differently if they had someone from the school doing proper stage makeup versus me covering her face with my own MAC, etc. But still seems unnecessary given the pre-ballet level, age and context. I''m not saying older children shouldn''t wear theatrical makeup appropriate for their character - I do get that.
