These are the stray kittens im trying to get freindly
20201027_235433.jpg this is them in bed in the laundry.
They are the clean dry cat blankies and towels just out of the dryer

I leave the chair in there for Tibby to use on wet days but that moving box was only sitting there temporarily ...

OH wow good for you for taking them in! :kiss2: I have gone through socializing feral kittens - some come around very easily - some don't!

This is very long but has the best advice for socializing in case you've never done it before...

Two of my cats I got as feral kittens and they are both very friendly now to me! One of them is still suspicious of everyone (including my husband) but part of that i think is attitude, she's just a momma's girl and that's good enough for her

Thanks for that, im.sure ill find something of use there
these wee guys are a bit harder work that the three ive done before
One was young and pregnant, one was young and freindly with our cat and of course Tibby tabby was an adult male
And our original cat Tinky came from the street via the SPCA, he was always a timid boy but we loved each other
I think these guys are a bit harder because there is 3 of them all at once but they try so hard to be freindly, the ginger boy rubs around my legs and they are all starting to chat to me
They have to get freindly because the SPCA will access them for adoption and if they don't pass ....well you know :(2
The other matter is an older tom who has been abandoned twice - he is very weary but looks a lot better with regular meals, the SPCA puts down toms who arnt suitable for socialising and its just not fear to give up on this rather grouchy fellow - neither Tibby or Borris like him much, but before we brought this house it was his house - then he got left behind - it was empty for 5 months and the back neighbour fed the strays but he moved a year ago, i actually thought he might be the kittens mom ...but turns out he's a boy:lol: (not really funny as the week i was sick in bed with vertigo i think at least one of them was in heat)
He's hissy and unpleasant but i can't give up on him either
On wet nights he also sleeps in the laundry
At night the kittens get super brave and will come in the house and exsplore, the fluffy one is the most timid but she tries to be friendly , she puts her tail up to say hello, she rolls on her back and shows me her belly - they are all super freindly with Tibby who is gentle and patient with them- even the boy.
Last night he was exploring under the tv unit and did good dusting for me
Borris is a mean old spinster aunty who is teaching them to hiss :lol-2:
But its also stressing her out all these extra kitties :(2
Anyway i just went out for more kitten food - Tibby loves it :lol-2:

A shot from a show at Madison Square Garden in NY of our Cirrus. It's the perfect name for him - doesn't he look like a cloud? He floats when he moves. <3

He won his category, too, and got a spontaneous ovation from the crowd when he went around the ring. He's an outstanding dog and this pandemic is REALLY messing with his show career!

On the other hand, he is ALL about those gnome-witches on our mantelpiece at the moment!

A couple of recent pictures, please excuse my son’s shaggy hair, that’s what no haircut in months looks like.

Handsome handsome Cirrus @mrs-b ! Great stacking. Next time you need a gofer at Westminster, please let me know--I can fetch snacks and water, clean crates, etc. I have never been to a show, but would love to see what it's like! All those dogs. Le sigh.

@springerspaniel -

I'm sure Cirrus will be at the Garden this February, but I think access will be limited. But if you're serious and it's something you'd truly like to do, I'll remember this for 2022 and would be more than happy for you to come join us!

ETA Just in case it's not obvious - the lady in the photo isn't me. That's Shelley DeChambeau from Beaumaris Irish Setters. She's one of the top handlers/breeders of irish setters in the US, and she's also Cirrus' handler. He's in love with her - utterly - and he knows no greater joy than going around the ring with her! That's why he looks so steady on his feet and relaxed in the face and body - he loves shows!

Your boy is very handsome! Love this half calico/half tortie kitty! Another kitty is beautiful too, I just have the softest feelings toward calicos :kiss2:.

Had hooefullly a major breakthrough with the ginger male kitten
he came inside to help Tibby eat his breakfast (Tibby is kind and patient) and we had a major pat with purring although once he wasn't so hungry he became a bit more weary

I feel bad they know Tibby and Borris get more exspensive food - Tibby was happy to go outside after and eat the kitten's store home brand food -
But once they get to the SPCA they feed them the good stuff

I know that you are going to socialize these kitties before long!
How can they resist you and Tibby and Borris!
Are you ready for 5 cats?

:lol-2: i might be but Gary isnt :(2

The most timid one often sniffs my toe hanging over the back step, she is the one i worry most about, but i think she will be ok too
i can stand right beside their cardboard box bed and she'll be lying in it and will happily stay there so long as i don't bend down
