Well. Its a situation of good but not good. Good is that she's holding her own for now, and she's drinking water on her own.

Not good is that she's 59.5lbs as of this morning and trying to get her to eat anything is really hard. She will push everything away.

I took her in this morning because she's back to the same way she was on Saturday.

So the vet this morning gave her another anti nausea shot. He gave me a bottle of Entyce to get her appetite up, so will see if this works.

She did get mad at me for making her take it but thats way better than how she was acting earlier.

Good report! Finally got her to eat enough to start taking meds! Still a day by day process though but this is a huge step.

slow and steady =)2

Yes indeed.

We had some hella fights over the weekend though (she does not want to take the pills...lol) But she's learning her mommy does not give up, I had little pieces of pills in everything.

Her cough is pretty terrible but productive (we're still nebulizing and she's OK with it as long as I hold her in my lap...lol) she's getting around well and she's bright eyed again and enjoying life. She does get winded quickly, so walks are harder.

Yesterday we went for one of her favorite walks. Well. I walked and carried her actually. Then we sat under a shade tree and she got some smell time and we walked back. And it was fine. That I can carry her a half mile without being winded is really scary to me (she may have lost a bit more weight)

Next vet visit is this week so we'll see where we are with things.

She is unfortunately starting to lose bladder control though and that is another thing I'll have to figure out. (I have diapers but they don't really stay on too well)

As long as quality of life is good, we're gonna keep going.

Some of our chickens. Their area is a work in progress. We're adding sod to the rest of the space plus building some play/roosting space. I also want to add some chicken tunnels out from the enclosure to expand their space and double as carriers in case we ever have need to evacuate.

Ducks are always something. They managed to eat and trample to death 10'x26' worth of sod in a month. I swear they get clean water. Their green "drinking" bowl gets dumped, cleaned, and filled three times a day. The pool got drained, cleaned, and filled every other day. They have since learned to drain the pool to make a giant mud puddle area so that is out. I have an 8' long metal stock tank going in with a garden block and river rock surround for drainage. Currently has more fresh sod trying to dry the mud out some. The plan is to set up several 55 gallon water barrels with different filtering materials and constantly pump the water through to keep the new pool continuously clean while reducing water waste. (Although we had been pumping it out towards the fruit trees so it wasn't completely wasted.) Eventually, we will probably end up with a complete second area for them so we can alternate to help keep things dry and grass alive.

what is sod ?

Sod is rolls of live grass I can buy and put in for them. Starting grass from seed would stand no chance as they would eat it before it grew and the seeds themselves can be harmful. Sod is basically grass grown on a bit of a mesh structure so that it can be picked up and rolled when it is ready to be sold. Each roll I get is 2' X 5' so the entire run is about 26 rolls.

How is she doing?

She's being crochety. :lol-2: She's really doing very well. love her but OMG, she refuses all pills now including all the stuff she was on before. Even in favorite food she would not take them. So.... this past week she didn't get them.

On the other end of that I stepped up her doing cuppage and nebulizing and she's done very well with both of these things. The good, no fever and while she's coughing it dosen't sound as rough as it had been. and she's breathing better and easier. No throwing up.

But because she's refusing one of the meds she needs, its lead to a pretty nasty incontinence issue where she starting peeing without even realizing it. Her vet wanted to see if maybe proin would help but...its a pill. Thats not going to work.

But its a weak estrogen thats given once a day and, I'm on estrogen so...I said. "I'd like to try her on a low dose E shot considering she's being pill adverse". He said, "OK, can't hurt" I gave her the shot on Monday. well... thats actually working and she went from a river to a trickle by Thursday. This morning her diaper and her bed was totally dry. She slept ALL NIGHT. I got up and checked because usually if she feel wetness she will get upset and I'll hear it, which means, I have to change out the bed pad and her blanket, plus rinse her off then dry her, which also means I don't sleep either.

In addition, she's perked up quite a bit, has more energy, like puppy energy almost. Wants her walkies more than ever, plays with her sister more. He worked the math for me based on her size with my script. If this works well and gives her a much better quality of life, we're both for it.

She's spending her weekend with her sister and daddy to give mom a break...lol

I don't know the difference in all of them, but this one isn't bad. The big box xtores were listing $$ per roll, but a local company sells them for $6.24 each. Not awful, but they do eat a full load in under two months....

Yesterday this little pudding joined the Vicarage fun :kiss2: She’s a Fox Red Lab, she’s 9 wks old & comes from a very long line of Pedigrees. Her name is Pen, a shortened version of her full & very complicated pedigree name. She found she could bark this morning, at exactly the same time the cat found she could hiss & spit louder than she thought :lol-2:

OK so I might have shared this before but lol it is worth sharing again
His brother is going to college now and this photo popped (pupped haha) up in my memories this morning.
Precious. Just precious. M just turned three years old and he is going to miss R terribly. It's so hard because he won't understand why R is gone but R will be back for holidays and vacations so hopefully M will not miss him too much
