Rainbow throwing lavender sapphire/diamond upcycled vintage ring

This one definitely deserves a show me the bling thread of its own.

This is a 0.9ct lavender sapphire in a preowned, upcycled, vintage, tourbillon style ring with mine cut diamonds. I am absolutely in love with the color and sparkle of the sapphire and the setting.

The setting had a very nice emerald in it but the round sapphire fits much better. The whole ring throws rainbows constantly and it looks great in all lighting. The sapphire is almost always lavender to my eye but throws pink and blue flashes. At times it leans a tad lilac-pink.

Thanks! Here’s the before with the emerald. It has a nice rich color but I don’t personally like emeralds so I don’t have any plans for it.

Thank you! The back of the setting made it pretty obvious that it was meant for a round stone. I wonder if the emerald was a replacement at one time.

Thank you so much. I do feel so lucky to have found this setting, especially to fit this particular sapphire because I felt like this one deserved a gorgeous setting with diamonds and style and it couldn’t have worked out more perfectly, I agree!

Thanks! The color is similar to a gorgeous lavender spinel that was posted recently. I was envying the spinel before realizing that my sapphire is almost identical in color. I have had it since before Xmas and was just trying to decide on a setting. It’s even an unheated sapphire which is a bonus. I especially like that it is more lavender than pink because I have a lot of pink stones.

Thank you. It wasn’t even expensive. I don’t think the light colored ones are as sought after. This one has nice saturation and doesn’t show any real grey and I think because of its lighter tone it is more sparkly and fiery than most that I have seen. I got it from an Etsy seller based in France.

Yes, I know what you mean! It seems to be nicely made. It’s not heavy but is sturdy enough. I wish I knew how old it really is.
