I've been Doing some research on square shaped diamonds and realize that the cushion cut diamonds are priced slightly less than the radiant (based on similar specs). Is there a reason why this is so? Also, would the cushion cut look relatively smaller? Please advise. Thank you!

OK, will try to help here...

Radiant has straight edges and clipped corners, cushion has rounded edges (like a cushion). Some radiants have optics very similar to that of cushions, and some do not. In general, the radiant cut takes on a 'crushed ice' appearance, and there are cushions that have this appearance, but also a lot of cushions that do not.

If you want a cushion cut diamond, I suggest starting with this helpful video: http://vimeo.com/7579666

Or, if you have a picture of a diamond that you like, if you post it perhaps we can try to advise.

ETA: I don't think you can make general pricing analogies because there are so many different types of cushions and radiants. same with size, you have to look at the actual mm measurements not the carat weight, there are probably radiants that face up larger than cushions and cushion that face up larger than some radiants, so hard to make generalizations

Very good advice! Cushions and radiants can have completely different looks, if you do have a photo or a link of the type of diamond you like then we might be able to help you decide between them. Also on the link Slgs gave you, Jon has many comparison videos linking from there so you will be able to view various diamond shapes to see which you prefer, this is a video that compares a cushion cut to a radiant,
